With reference to your letter of the 28th ultimo

regarding the retirement from the Home service of

Mr. J.C. Kaye, formerly Chief Clerk, Shanghai Post Office,

I am directed by the Postmaster General to state that

the Home superannuation award was based on Mr. Kaye's

pensionable emoluments at the date of retirement viz. £557.11.0 a year full consolidated, and that, of the amount of bonus, £2557.10.11, shewn in the statement enclosed with the Post Office letter of the 18th ultimo,

the sum drawn prior to 1 July 1934 was £2508.15.11.

amount drawn after that date, £48.15.0, represents the

bonus portion of consolidated pay with restoration of

half the emergency cut.
